The Tank - art project in Nyksund
Engineer and artist Michal Peceny, originally from Slovakia, started his art project "The Tank" in 2009. He acquired from Shell company the 50 m3 large, former diesel tank located on top of a cliff at Nyksund, to make it subject to an artistic transformation. Inspired by the "Shelter" movement from the 1970's, he has started adding elements to it - skylight and entrance door surrounded by ornamental pipes that also serve as air inlets. The tank is rusty - a rough beauty inside - but leaking outside - demanding action, technically and artistically. Michal gives thoughts about the Tank in his website, here: http://www.changedperspective.com/?page_id=7
